All are invited on Friday evening, March 23rd, to the First Parish Church in Dover at 6 p.m. for a potluck supper and discussion of the relationships between Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. All the UCC churches in our area have been invited to take part, and many, like us, will have carried out a book study of the wonderful book The Faith Club.
The discussion will be led by Boston University Professor of Religion David Frankfurter. There is no doubt that the meal, the presentation, and the discussion will all be very well worth the trip! Please mark your calendar for this great event.
On Sunday, March 4th, there will be a meeting for all Church School families to be held in Fellowship Hall directly following the service. This will be an opportunity for you to get to know the new Church School Director, as well as an opportunity to discuss the future of our church school. This will be a child friendly meeting and a light snack will be provided. Thank you!
Josie Perkins
Church School Director
Josie Lynn Perkins is a resident of Wakefield, and holds a BA in Performance Arts from Point Park University. She has been working with kids of all ages for the past 15 years and has loved every moment of it. Josie became a proud member of the First Congregational Church of Wakefield on February 12th, 2012, and is excited (as well as thankful) about her new position as Church School Director.
She was the unanimous choice of our hiring team, which included Margie Galabrun as Christian Education Coordinator, George Ackerman as the Personnel Ministry representative, Judy Trepal as a Church School parent, and Pastor Mary. We are very fortunate to have her with us, both as a member of the church and as Church School Director!

A Blessed New Year to All!
A most important new thing in our lives as church together is that we have moved into our new structure! If you have any questions about how it works, please be sure to ask a member of the Calling and Discernment Team. This structure sees each person as a minister able to carry out a ministry expressive of his or her spiritual gifts. Donna and George Ackerman, Janice Brejwo, Jan Fairchild, Margie Galabrun, Bill Goodwin, Mary James and Arlene Leyare are all members of this team, and are eager to help with questions about our new structure.
Your ministry ideas are most welcome and there is a place for all ministries that are consistent with our mission and vision in this new structure! Be aware that there are no more committees as we have known them, but rather ministry teams headed by volunteer coordinators. These teams vary in number and will meet in various configurations as needed to plan, carry out projects, share ideas, and engage in work together! All church members and friends are encouraged to offer to serve in one or more areas of ministry in the life of the church. If you haven’t been asked, don’t be shy. Step up and make your ideas known!
