The Prudential Committee has authority, under the direction of the Church, to manage the financial and business affairs of the Church, and provide for the care of its property. It can authorize and direct the Treasurer as to the payment of monies under its control and can appoint an auditor and provide for the proper auditing of the Treasurer's accounts.

The committe designates which banks, financial institutions and advisors shall be used for deposits, loans and other such transactions, provides a written report to the Annual Meeting of all transactions and of the condition of the property and of each endowment fund and income received. Legal documents that are binding upon the Church are signed by at least three members of this committee.
