Since 1998 FCCW has partnered with sister church, Rufumiso UCCZ (United Church of Christ in Zimbabwe), located at Birchenough Bridge. The Zimbabwe Team is an energetic and enthusiastic group which facilitates this partnership. FCCW Mission groups have traveled to Zim six times since 2005 developing cross cultural relationships and unwavering friendships. Service projects have included rebuilding and painting Rufumiso Church, renovating schools, painting classrooms, building a home, drilling boreholes in Dzika village, providing goats and chickens for income generating projects and meeting with our sponsored children.  The current Rufumiso project is construction of a parsonage for the pastor.

We operate under the umbrella of Project Kuchengetedza Zviwanikwa (PKZ). www. projectkz.org

Through PKZ we:

  • facilitate the sponsorship of 40 children under Friends of Orphan Trust (FOOT) and Project Kuchengetedza Zviwanikwa programs.
  • built a large ECD classroom in Madhuku Village, which doubles as a library and a place for students to receive tutoring;
  • drilled two additional boreholes in Chigwete Village and distributed more than two dozen Hipporollers (TM) https://www.hipporoller.org/  throughout Chipinge and Chiredzi districts to increase critical access to water.
  • distributed school supplies, athletic uniforms and equipment, sewing supplies, clothing, shoes, tools, and durable medical equipment and medical supplies to schools, clinics and villages throughout Masvingo and Manicaland provinces.
  • provide a monthly supplemental food program for the youth of the Daisy Dube Children’s home at Mt. Selinda;
  • distribute washable, reusable sanitary pads with underwear enabling secondary school girls to remain in school;
  • partner with Dress A Girl Around the World (TM) of Southern Maine to provide very special, new dresses to vulnerable children;
  • provide food security distributions for the elderly and maize seed for under served rural farmers during planting season.

The PKZ Team is working diligently to renovate an old building to be used as medical clinic in Humani Village where people are now walking extraordinary distances to access basic medical care.

PKZ initiatives are designed as a side by side partnership with local village leaders, school headmasters, medical personnel, and community members to support development and sustainability.

FCCW organizes a humanitarian shipping container with NH churches and other non-profit groups. The container benefits churches and organizations throughout the country of Zimbabwe.   A 2023 container is in the works!
